This weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, which coincidentally marks the official start of rosé season. As far as wines go, rosé has gained the reputation of being easy drinking, refreshing and just damn good. But, the thing about rosé that makes it so special is its versatility and ability to go with almost every summer meal, snack and activity you can think of.

Rosé can be, and is often made from almost every type of red grape in every region wine is produced. It ranges in acidity and sweetness, can be light or dry and even effervescent. The magic that is rosé happens during the wine making process, when makers allow the juice to have just a hint of contact with grape skins in order to produce that pleasing pink color we all love. That said the different approaches to rosé produces tons of styles and tastes for any palate. So whether you like it bright and fruity with subtle hints of berries and stone fruits or slightly dry and herbaceous, there’s a bottle for you. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorites to drink this holiday and well into summer.
