With masks becoming a part of everyone’s daily wear, make-up routines have changed significantly. Now it’s all about highlighting the eyes and keeping it simple, but how exactly do you do that? Follow the steps below for a one-up on the quarantine make-up game.

Start off with a fresh base

Like with any make-up look, your first step is going to include moisturization and coverage. A good tinted moisturizer is the perfect way to do this. This product will not only freshen up your face, it will also help provide some low coverage and help even your skin tone. There’s no need to waste full-coverage products when a minimal amount of your face will actually be showing. You can also opt to cover any problem areas you may be having with just a bit of concealer.

Use your mask to make your eyes pop

Take advantage of your mask fashion choices by using them to help highlight the natural color of your eyes and pick a colored mask that complements your eye color. You can do this by using complementary colors, just as you would when picking out an eyeshadow. For blue eyes this would mean sticking to pinks, oranges, bright blues, and neutrals. While for green eyes purples and reds are good options for green eyes. Warm browns, and deep greens will also help brown eyes pop.

Add a complementary eyeshadow look

After you select your mask for the day, you can now choose an eye make-up look that will help further enhance the natural beauty of your eyes. For a more natural look add a shimmery neutral. For a bolder look stick to bright colors that complement your mask color.

Invest in some volumizing mascara

Highlighting your eyes is the key to any quarantine make-up look and a volumizing mascara helps add a final flourish to this enhancement. Adding a little extra color and body to your lashes will keep the  focus on your eyes and add a little bit of drama while still remaining natural.

Finish it off with some setting spray

Setting spray is always good for preventing smudged or faded make-up. During quarantine it’s an even more necessary component since you’re often spending the day alternating between taking your mask on and off. Just a couple of sprays can help set your look into place and also limit the amount of make-up the inside of your mask will pick up.
