Having a hard time getting into the Halloween spirit this year? With so many social gatherings cancelled, it might be difficult to muster up the fanfare of prior seasons. Yet a Halloween inspired manicure can still make you feel festive. We’ve gathered up some spooky nail looks you can recreate at home--while you plan next year’s epic costume.

Black Cats
The classic mascot of Halloween is easy to recreate on any nail shape. Have fun with exciting colors or backgrounds, like light olive, or periwinkle confetti.

Skeleton
Goth meets elegance with this bone chilling design that’s perfect for short and longer nail looks

Candy Corn
More delicious than the candy itself, this look is a fun way to show your spirit. Try freehand painting stripes, or sprinkling orange and yellow dots to instantly evoke Halloween.

Ouija Board
Conjure up that spirit with simple letters, or draw on more intricate designs for the full Ouija effect

Bats
Just the right amount of spooky. Try alternating the design for visual interest.

Spiderwebs
These webs work in every color. So if the goth look isn’t your thing, try a ballet pink base with a gold web. The resulting combo is both on trend and especially chic.

Ghosts...and other classic characters
Is it really Halloween without ghosts and ghouls ? This year if you’re going for cutesy rather than morbid, try out one of these adorable designs featuring the holidays classic characters.

Splatter Nails
You’ve got blood on your hands...in an artsy way. Recreate your favorite slasher flick with shocking red polish and a toothpick. For a bit of drama, use a glow-in-the-dark base.

Celestial symbols
Crescent moons and stars add mysticism to your manicure.
