Here’s How To Keep Busy During The Winter Quarantine

5 interesting ways to pass the time indoors

winter quarantine activities

As the seasons go on quarantining has brought on a whole new look. While we were once all able to go for walks and enjoy some nice outdoor dining, the sunny weather has gone away and with it all those fun socially distant outdoor activities. If the winter blues are hitting you a little hard right now and you feel like you’re running out of quarantine things to do, don’t stress; we’ve got you covered. Check out the list below for some COVID-safe indoor activities.

Paint By Number

Paint by Number sets are a great way to occupy your time as well as a nice way to bring out your creative side. You can go for a project that is as extensive or as easy as you like. The great part is that you need minimal artistic skill to actually complete the set. Simply follow the numbers and stay inside the lines. Paint with some good music playing (and maybe some wine or tea!) for an even more relaxing vibe.

Try a New Form of Exercise

Although walks and runs outside are a little hard to do in the winter, there are still plenty of exercises you can do from the comfort of your own home. Try a workout routine you’ve never tried before, whether it be pilates or Zumba. Not only will you be left feeling accomplished, you’ll be giving yourself some great health benefits and a nice endorphin rush!

Learn Some New Recipes

I’m sure we all remember the bread making phase of early quarantine. The good news is that cooking and baking is a fun activity you can do year round. If you’ve already graduated from the banana bread stage take the opportunity to make yourself a nice breakfast or dinner each day. Take note of the items in your pantry and frdige and utilize them in new ways. You’ll be left with a tasty meal and will also have created a sort of structure and schedule to this, at times, very unstructured (dare I say unprecedented) times.

Make a Self Care Mood Board

When the winter blues and quarantine isolation have you down there’s nothing better to do than create a self care mood board. You can flex your creative muscles while also setting goals for the future, which will both give you something to work towards as well as something to look forward to. Take the chance to explore a dream you never got the chance to before, whether it be learning to play the guitar or starting that food instagram you’ve also thought about doing.

Virtual Game Night

If you’re missing a little social interaction, virtual game nights are a great way to bring your friends or family together for a night of fun in a completely safe way. Extensions and websites like Jackbox, Backyard.co, Codenames, and even virtual Cards Against Humanity make it really easy to connect online. Just grab a drink and some snacks, make sure you’re unmuted, and get ready for a night of friendly competition.
