With the first weeks of the New Year comes the urge for good health inside and out. Many of us are aiming to become the best versions of ourselves and start our journey with new workouts and fitness routines. But for well balanced health, it’s important to make healthy additions to our diets as well as exercise schedules. A quick detox drink is a great and simple way to get your foot into the door of your own health journey. They are extremely easy to make and help you start your day off with the right mindset and a boosted metabolism. Check out the suggestions below and get ready to conquer all your health goals.

Apple Berry Burst

What you’ll need: Apple cider vinegar tea, blackberries, and lemon

How to make it: Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with hot water and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to make your apple cider vinegar tea (for a simpler recipe you can also use apple cider vinegar tea tea bags; Yogi has a good sample of them). Add your desired amount of blackberries and lemon slices to your tea and enjoy. This drink is best served hot.

Why you’ll love it: The sweetness of the berries and the sourness of the lemon creates a nice fruity balance. Apple cider vinegar is also one of the most common detox ingredients since it is best known for its role in helping burn fat and keeps you feeling full longer. Not only will you get great detox benefits from the apple cider vinegar, there are also some claims that it can help keep your skin clear. The warm lemon water also helps aid in digestion.

Zest of Life

What you’ll need: Mint tea, orange, and ginger

How to make it: Steep tea for 3 minutes before removing the tea bag. Add your desired amount of orange slices and a teaspoon of ginger. Stir and allow to sit for a couple of minutes so the fruit flavor has time to fully incorporate into the drink. This drink can be served hot or cold. However if making hot, make sure you allow for longer steeping time.

Why you’ll love it: The refreshing and calming aspect of the mint complements the zing and revitalizing aspect of the ginger and orange. The ginger also adds a ton of great health benefits, including helping with digestion, soothing nausea, and helping reduce some of the effects of inflammation.

Red Medicine

What you’ll need: Cranberry juice, coconut water, and cinnamon

How to make it: Add 6 oz. of cranberry juice to 6 oz. of coconut water. Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and mix. This drink is best served iced.

Why you’ll love it: This tropical and fruity drink is sure to wake up your taste buds. The combination of cranberry juice and coconut water tastes like a beach cocktail but has the added benefits of hydration (thanks to the coconut water) and a natural detox factor (thanks to the cranberry juice). The small addition of cinnamon adds a more complex flavor to the drink and prevents it from being overpoweringly fruity. Not only does the cinnamon taste good it will also help spark your metabolism.
