Every year designers and stylists look to Pantone to dub the hues of the seasons to come. Once the colors have been chosen and the swatches have been released, the selection sets the tone for trends in fashion, beauty, accessories, home and more. For this autumn/winter, Pantone’s two color palattes feel like an invitation to get creative with traditional fall tones, and to create looks that are experimental and entirely you. The NYFW color palatte showcased a colorful collection of muted seasonal shades like Amberglow, Fired Brick and Peach Nougat, while the classics color palatte features cool neutrals such as Almond Oil, Sleet and Military Olive.
The colors were selected early in the year pre-COVID, and though the trends for the Autumn/Winter 2020 season have seen a shift, the color selection holds strong. With fall just around the corner the idea of chunky knit sweaters and washed denim in the smooth off-white shade of Almond Oil, or leather boots and accessories in the strong yet subtle red of Fired brick sound modern and sophisticated.
